2017 Wedding Dress Trends

The White Wedding House bridal boutique in Brentwood Essex has  been very busy attending the 2016 bridal trade shows and purchasing brand new dresses from the 2017 collections.

From Milan to Barcelona to Venice, we have scoured the  four corners of Europe for the best designers and most beautiful wedding dresses for Autumn/Winter 2016/17.  Our remit is always to find classic styles with a modern twist and unique features that set our dresses apart from the rest of the crowd. Everybody wants to look like a bride on their wedding day, but with a style that sets them apart from all the other brides at every other wedding they have attended.

So what are the key 2017 wedding dress trends?

Sleeves – sleeves are making a big comeback in a big way. Sleeves can be worn in summer or winter, using either a sheer, lightweight tulle or a heavier satin or lace. Sleeves hide a multiple of sins for those who are self conscious of their arms, or they can elongate long, elegant limbs on those who embrace this feature.

Colour – Some bridal shows were showing almost every dress in either a blush, pale pink or pale gold colour. Colour is hot, hot, hot for the next season, but for the more traditional Ivory brides most dresses can be ordered in classic white, Ivory or in a more risque colour combination.

Detachable Trains – Such a clever idea! We have just ordered several dresses which come with options to detach the train or add a fuller skirt. Effectively two dresses for the price of one. Wear the full length train for the day and remove it for the evening. Party on….
